Research 4 Life is the collective name given to four programs aimed at providing developing countries with free or low cost access to academic and professional peer-reviewed content online. The four programs are:

-Hinari – Research in Health
-AGORA – Research in Agriculture
-OARE – Research in the Environment
-ARDI – Research for Development and Innovation

Research 4 Life is a Public-Private Partnership, based entirely on goodwill, between a group of intergovernmental organisations, some leading research institutes, and up to 185 international scientific publishers. The goal of Research4Life is to reduce the knowledge gap between high-income countries and low- and middle-income countries by providing affordable access to critical scientific research. Research 4 Life was founded on the principle that research is better informed when it is based on the most recent, high quality and relevant scientific knowledge and that the world’s poorest countries should have access to this knowledge.
