NESTA is a global innovation foundation, based in the United Kingdom, with a mission to back people and organisations to bring new ideas to life and through them help improve all of our lives. The organisation acts through a combination of practical programmes, investment, policy and research, and the formation of partnerships to promote innovation across a broad range of sectors, covering major social challenges. They use their knowledge, networks, funding and skills to take on big challenges, working in partnership with others to make change happen.
The NESTA website hosts a resource database to help spark new ideas and support innovation. The resource database includes how-to guides that cover the scope of innovation, including understanding the process of innovation and how to undertake innovation at each step of the process. It currently contains guides in the following categories:
– Understand how innovation works
– Start a project
– Make a plan
– Understand my priorities
– Understand my audiences
– Generate new ideas
– Test and learn from my work
– Make it big
The website could be revamped to make it more user-friendly. Nevertheless the online resource is a useful, practical tool for those looking to undertake innovation.
