The Climate Knowledge Brokers group developed a video, Knowledge Systems Analysis for Climate Knowledge Brokers, as an introduction to knowledge systems analysis, a tool to allow for more focused knowledge brokering interventions in knowledge systems connected to climate-sensitive value chains. Knowledge systems analysis identifies the different actors within a system, the knowledge they offer and the knowledge they need, and the ways in which they exchange this knowledge with other actors. The Climate Knowledge Brokers argue that by looking at a system as a whole rather than starting from the viewpoint of one particular actor within the system, new insights can be gained as to why one particular end user is not receiving crucial climate information, as well as offering insight on potential solutions through well targeted interventions to improve the flow of information.
